The Baptist I'icnlc. Quite a crowd of happy New Hermans went down to Morehead on the liaptist Sunday School pic-nic, yesterday morn ing. Six were full, but not crowded so as to be uncomfortable. 'flu y arrived at Motvhe id at half past ten o'clock. After leaving the cars some went to work to net the diunei ready which was served in the diuiuj room of the spacious New Berne House, of which Mr. J. H. Matin is proprietor. It being a New Berne pic-nic, it was very appro priate to have the dinner in the Now Berne hotel. Mr. Mjuih was very kind in granting the u;e of the hotel, and all appreciated this kindness. After dinner the happy crowd szattered some to play base ball, some to sail and fish. Many- went over to Fort Macon and enjoyed looking at the historic old place, and gazing at the sublime beauty of the grand old Atlantic. Several persons ven tured into its cooling waters,' but no one "forded" it but the congenial pastor of the Baptist church. Every body seemed to b-) happy, and as no accidents occurred, the picnic was a grand success. A.
